Noosa Surf Art Exhibition - 22 February 2020

I had the honour of being invited to this years Noosa Arts festival and it was genuinely one of the best artist communities I've met.

Every year Owen Cavanagh puts together this amazing event and gets artists from all over the world to display, sell and create art for the Noosa community to enjoy. The beers flowed at Noosa Heads brewery and the art was truly something else. For both weekends I set up a tent and did my live demonstrations of my pyrography.

I wasn't the only pyrography artist there that day though which was a real treat for me. I often found the wood carves and burners watching me stain and shade my art.

I really can't wait to be a part of this event again next year. It was amazing to learn so much from far more accomplished artists such as Shane Christensen and Mark Seaman. I like to think I showed them a thing or two myself. I am so excited to be able to collaborate with a few of these artist and really immerse myself in the local art scene. Some of us artists put forward some works to be raffled off for charity, we were able to raise over 3k for our very deserving surf charities.

If you'd like to see the other artist involved and see the charities we raised money for head to https://www.solearte.com.au/surfart-expo-featured-artists/ I really do have to say it was a life growing event and I value our ocean life now more than ever by seeing it through the eyes of my fellow artists. Art is an expression of the soul and these wonderful people bleed the life giving salt water and live to protect it every day. I can't wait for my next exhibition! See you all there -V
